Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on, safety-conscious CO? Plant Operator to join our team at the Heineken Wellington facility. You will be responsible for the operation, minor mechanical maintenance, inspection, and reliability of the CO? plant and associated equipment including compressors, scrubbers, storage balloons, pipelines, and loading systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Process control of CO? gas production
- Monitor and control plant and CO? related on-site operations
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise plant downtime
- Monitor equipment performance and ensure safe, efficient plant operation
- Perform tanker loading
- Complete maintenance PMs, job cards, and daily plant performance logs
- Adhere to safety standards, procedures, and housekeeping requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Supervisor
Requirements
- NQF Level 3 or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, or Millwright
- Proven mechanical maintenance experience in a processing or gas plant environment
- Knowledge of rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, motors)
- Experience with pressure systems, valves, and piping
- Strong fault-finding skills and a practical, hands-on approach
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- High attention to detail and a safety-conscious mindset
- Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems (advantageous)
- Experience in CO? or gas plants (advantageous)
Working Conditions
- Full-time shift work, including weekends and overtime as required
