Qetello Holdings is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and detail-oriented Container Logistics Controller to join their operations team on a permanent basis.

This role is ideal for a logistics professional with strong analytical skills, operational coordination experience, and a solid understanding of containerised transport, shipping, and supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing container movements, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining compliance, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders across the logistics chain.

Duties & Responsibilities

Container Operations & Logistics Coordination

  • Monitor and control inbound and outbound container movements.
  • Track container status and movements using logistics and terminal operating systems.
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, transporters, depots, port authorities, and other logistics stakeholders.
  • Monitor real-time updates and transactions on NAVIS, including container status changes, location updates, and movement confirmations.
  • Schedule container deliveries, collections, and repositioning activities.
  • Manage empty container turn-ins to prevent detention and demurrage penalties.
  • Ensure smooth execution of daily container operations and transport activities.

Inventory Control & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate container inventory records and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Prepare, verify, and manage documentation related to container movements, including release orders, gate passes, and operational records.
  • Ensure all operational data is accurately captured and maintained within company systems.

Compliance & Operational Performance

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customs regulations, transport legislation, and safety standards.
  • Identify operational delays, bottlenecks, and service disruptions, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Monitor operational performance and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Generate operational reports, KPI measurements, and performance metrics for management review.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with internal departments and external service providers.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding container status, operational updates, and service issues.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure seamless logistics execution.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics, container operations, shipping, transport, or supply chain management.
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, transportation operations, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Experience working with logistics management systems and terminal operating systems, including NAVIS.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, transport legislation, and logistics compliance requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics-related software.
