About the Role
The Academy Manager will establish, lead and scale community-based Academy, designed to upskill matriculants from communities into accredited learnerships and permanent employment within our Group. This role is both operational and transformational, responsible for programme delivery, stakeholder management, learner performance, funding compliance, and conversion into permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Work Readiness Bootcamp.
- Oversee 12-month accredited learnership programme delivery.
- Ensure curriculum alignment with BPO industry requirements.
- Monitor learner attendance, conduct, performance, and development.
- Implement structured performance tracking and remediation plans.
- Manage relationships with partner schools and community leaders.
- Ensure compliance with SETA requirements and funding agreements.
- Maintain accurate reporting for B-BBEE and Skills Development audits.
- Oversee classroom setup and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Prepare learners for assessment centres and permanent placement.
Requirements
- Strong leadership and classroom authority.
- Experience managing learnership or SETA-funded programmes.
- Knowledge of South African Labour Law and Skills Development Act.
- Excellent coaching and mentoring ability.
- High emotional intelligence and resilience.
- Strong administrative and reporting capability.
- Commercial understanding of workforce planning.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree/Diploma in HR, Education, Industrial Psychology or related field. 5 years experience in learnership management, youth development, or training delivery. Experience within BPO or high-performance environment advantageous. Knowledge of B-BBEE Skills Development requirements advantageous.
