A new and exciting opportunity has become available in our Old Khaki Department for a resilient, innovative and detail-oriented Junior Garment Technologist . This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career within a dynamic and fast-paced retail environment. Our ideal candidate is eager to learn, passionate about product quality, and ready to contribute to achieving both departmental and business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Assist with product development in line with brand requirements and specifications Support the preparation and submission of accurate tech packs to suppliers Assist in managing the sample sealing process from development through to production Participate in fit sessions and support seasonal fit reviews Support pattern grading in line with brand and customer specifications Provide technical support to the Design team Assist in maintaining pattern block libraries and grading rules Help ensure garment quality standards are met Support QA reporting and quality investigations Liaise with suppliers and factories on sample approvals and quality queries Assist with communication between Distribution Centre QC teams and suppliers Participate in supplier visits and quality audits where required Requirements: Qualifications & Experience: Grade 12 Relevant tertiary qualification in Fashion Design / Clothing / Textiles / Garment Construction 13 years experience in a similar or related role (internship or graduate experience considered) Exposure to a retail or manufacturing environment (advantageous) Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel advantageous) Understanding of garment and pattern construction principles Competencies: Strong attention to detail Eagerness to learn and grow Solution-oriented mindset Good communication skills Ability to manage time and prioritize effectively Proactive and adaptable approach Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships Please note: The Cape Union Mart Group is committed to transformation.
