Hotel Sales Manager – Government & Public Sector Location: Cape Town Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role A leading upscale hotel group is expanding its commercial team and seeks a driven Sales Manager to own and grow the Government & Public Sector revenue stream across a national hotel portfolio. If you thrive on strategic relationship-building, understand the nuances of public sector procurement, and have a track record of converting government business, this role was built for you. What You Bring 3 to 5 years hotel sales experience, preferably within Government, Corporate or Public Sector for hotels Sound understanding of government procurement, tender processes and compliance environments Proven record of achieving revenue targets and growing market share Strong negotiation, presentation and stakeholder relationship skills Strategic thinker with solid analytical ability Ability to manage multiple national priorities independently Multi-property or hotel group experience advantageous Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel sales or reporting systems Professional, diplomatic disposition with exceptional administrative skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as operationally required What You Will Do Drive total profitable revenue growth across the Government and Public Sector segment nationally Develop and implement targeted sales strategies aligned with the Group Sales Business Plan Identify, negotiate and secure government, parastatal and public sector business opportunities Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to post-business review Negotiate group business and coordinate execution of bookings and events across all properties Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, procurement teams and travel management companies Analyse market intelligence, production trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities Collaborate closely with Reservations, Revenue, Operations and Marketing teams Represent the group at trade shows, networking functions and government-related engagements
