About the Role
RPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable building contractor in Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their team on a large-scale construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, ensuring quality delivery, and driving programme performance from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily site activities on a major building project
- Manage subcontractors, labour, and site resources effectively
- Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements
- Maintain high standards of quality control and workmanship, particularly on finishing works
- Monitor site progress and implement corrective actions where required
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and consultants
- Manage site reporting, documentation, and progress updates
Requirements
National Diploma in Building/BTech degree in Construction Management or similar
Minimum 8 years proven experience as a Site Manager on building construction projects
Strong background in commercial building projects and high-end finishes essential
Experience on large government or institutional projects advantageous
Solid understanding of construction sequencing, site coordination, and subcontractor management
