Position overview:
This is a multifaceted role requiring an individual who can seamlessly manage financial administration, bookkeeping, investment portfolio oversight, trust and company administration, statutory compliance, governance obligations, and executive support functions.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted right-hand person to the Directors, ensuring the efficient management of family wealth structures, operating entities, investment portfolios, trusts, and personal affairs while maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity.
The position is ideally suited to a finance professional who enjoys a broad scope of responsibilities and thrives in an environment requiring initiative, ownership, discretion, and exceptional attention to detail.

Requirements:
Qualifications

  • Com, B.Compt, B.Acc, Accounting Diploma or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Additional qualifications in Taxation, Governance, Compliance, Risk Management, Investments, Trust Administration, or Payroll Administration will be advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 7–10 years’ relevant experience with a focus on Trusts / Investment as well as Tax
  • Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance administration, payroll, compliance, investments, trusts, or family office environments.
  • Experience working with multiple entities including companies, trusts, and investment structures.
  • Experience supporting directors, executives, or high-net-worth individuals will be advantageous.
  • Experience within a family office, accounting practice, private investment environment, trust administration environment, or multi-entity business structure will be advantageous.

Technical Competencies

Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Accounting

  • Maintain full bookkeeping functions for multiple entities up to trial
  • Process and maintain creditors and debtor’s
  • Process supplier invoices and reconcile supplier
  • Generate customer invoices and monitor
  • Maintain accurate
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank
  • Process general ledger
  • Reconcile all balance sheet
  • Maintain fixed asset
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis for
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity
  • Assist with budgeting and
  • Manage banking relationships and banking administration across all
  • Prepare banking documentation and coordinate account openings, amendments and closures.
  • Monitor liquidity requirements and cash positioning across
  • Maintain accurate accounting records across all

Payroll Administration

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and
  • Maintain payroll records and employee
  • Process leave, salary adjustments, appointments, and
  • Reconcile payroll control
  • Ensure payroll compliance with all applicable
  • Administer employee-related statutory

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

  • Prepare, review and coordinate tax compliance, tax calculations, provisional tax submissions and annual income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts.
  • Prepare and submit:
    • EMP201 returns
    • EMP501 reconciliations
    • VAT201 returns
    • Compensation Fund Returns of Earnings
    • UIF, PAYE and SDL submissions
  • Prepare, review and submit annual personal income tax returns (ITR12) for family members and related individuals via SARS eFiling.
  • Compile and maintain all supporting tax
  • Calculate provisional tax liabilities and coordinate provisional tax submissions and payments.
  • Liaise directly with SARS regarding assessments, verifications, audits, objections, and tax-related queries.
  • Monitor tax compliance across all family members and ensure submissions are made within statutory deadlines.
  • Coordinate with external tax practitioners and advisors where
  • Maintain accurate records of tax correspondence, assessments, refunds, and supporting documentation.

Trust, Governance & Corporate Administration

  • Maintain comprehensive records of all investment portfolios and
