Sous Chef – Award-Winning Restaurant – Constantia, Cape Town Kendrick Recruitment is searching for an experienced Sous Chef for the acclaimed restaurant division of a 5-star hotel and wine estate in Constantia, Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, technically strong fine-dining chef ready to take ownership of a section, develop their team and deliver consistently exceptional food in a high-profile environment. Please note: Candidates must currently reside in Cape Town. Relocation will not be considered for this role. Minimum Requirements: Certificate or Diploma in Professional Cookery from a recognised institution Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Sous Chef role within a fine-dining restaurant or 5-star hotel kitchen Strong all-round culinary skills across multiple sections Proven ability to manage and mentor a kitchen brigade Sound knowledge of food costing, stock control and ordering Full HACCP compliance and food safety knowledge High energy with the ability to perform under pressure Stable work history with contactable references Key Responsibilities: Assist the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef in the overall running of the kitchen Ensure the highest standards of food production, presentation and timing across all service periods Run sections independently in the absence of senior chefs Mentor and develop junior kitchen staff Manage stock rotation, wastage control and daily prep standards Assist with capturing invoices, costing and ordering Maintain strict hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards Attend team briefings and contribute to training initiatives Package: CTC: R23,573 per month Live-out position Should you feel you are the right fit for this role, please apply with your updated CV, contactable references, a food portfolio and a recent head & shoulders photo ASAP!
