About the Role
CJ Staffing (Pty) Ltd, a growing maize milling company based in Delareyville, is seeking an experienced Grain Procurer to join our team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and be responsible for ensuring that all grain procurement is done to maximize returns while maintaining competitive pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement grain procurement strategies and pricing models
- Analyse grain market trends, as well as seasonal and geographical market characteristics
- Perform forecasting
- Procure grain in a cost-efficient manner
- Network and negotiate contracts with suppliers
- Engage in Safex trading
- Implement risk management strategies
- Identify and capture opportunities in future markets while limiting risk exposure
- Liaise and establish long-term relationships with industry role players
Requirements
- B-degree in Agriculture, or related qualification
- In-depth knowledge of the maize industry, with at least 8 years relevant experience
- Strategic thinking abilities
- Analytical skills
- Knowledge of supply-demand economics
- Ability to negotiate favourable contracts
- Ability to respect market directions and handle pressure of market positions
- Familiarity with Safex trading
- Ability to establish sound relationships with industry role players
Qualifications
- Formal education in Agriculture or related field (Bachelor’s degree)
