Key Responsibilities:
Copy Development & Execution:
- Write, edit, and proof CRM campaign copy (emails, newsletters, etc.).
- Create web content (player bios, fixtures, shop pages, etc.).
- Incorporate SEO, UX, and conversion principles in web copy.
- Support broader campaigns with copy for various digital assets.
- Translate complex messaging into fan-friendly language.
Tone of Voice & Brand Distinction:
- Develop and maintain distinct tones for the client.
- Adapt writing style to different platforms and audiences.
- Understand and address diverse fan cultures.
- Ensure brand consistency across all channels.
CRM & Fan Communications:
- Collaborate on automated and campaign-specific email flows.
- Create high-performing copy for various fan communications.
- Test and optimize email copy for better results.
- Provide data-driven insights for campaign improvement.
Digital & Web Copy:
- Write and maintain accurate and engaging web copy.
- Ensure UX-focused copywriting for clarity and navigation.
- Craft language for ticketing, shopping, and onboarding.
- Optimize web copy for mobile and SEO.
Collaboration & Workflow:
- Collaborate with various teams to deliver cohesive campaigns.
- Meet content deadlines and prioritize effectively.
- Support commercial and partner teams with brand-aligned copy.
- Participate in creative brainstorms and concept development.
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant Diploma/Degree.
- 3-5 years copywriting experience (brand, agency, or media), ideally in sports, entertainment, or lifestyle.
- Outstanding writing and editing skills with a versatile portfolio.
- Proven ability to write for CRM and web (conversion, clarity, engagement focused).
- Experience developing and adapting brand tone of voice.
- Strong understanding of fan behavior and digital engagement across channels.
- Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and voice consistency.
Desirable:
- Experience writing for professional sports teams/leagues.
- Familiarity with email marketing tools (e.g., Dotdigital, Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
- Understanding of SEO writing principles and digital UX best practices.
- Experience writing copy for commercial and partner campaigns.
- Working knowledge of rugby and/or sports audience culture.
