Durban: Junior Data Analyst

Job Description

Key tasks and Responsibilities: Data Management & Analytics: Source, consolidate, clean, and validate data from accounting systems, SharePoint, Semantic Models and Excel-based data sources to ensure high data integrity and reporting accuracy. Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, margin risks, and performance patterns. Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and automated reports using Excel. Maintain data models to support forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking. Automate recurring reports and data processes, significantly reducing manual effort and reporting turnaround time. Develop KPIs, sales targets, budgets, and performance scorecards aligned to business objectives. Ensure consistent metric definitions and governance across sales and business reporting. Reporting on Sales Division performance. Pricing: Maintain customer price books Fuel and Lubricants. Manage monthly price adjustments and maintain pricing accuracy across systems. Liaise with sales teams to resolve pricing discrepancies and manage spot price variances. Business Development & Strategic Support: Assist in tender submissions and new business development initiatives. Compile client-facing communication information. Provide analytical and presentation support. Deliver data-driven insights to support growth strategies and margin optimisation. Requirements: Business related graduate Minimum 2 years office / admin-based work experience in an operationally intensive business Intermediate to advanced excel experience Power BI experience advantageous but not required Core Competencies: Data Modelling & Forecasting Business & Margin Analysis Sales Performance Analytics Pricing Maintenance & Governance KPI Development & Performance Tracking Dashboard Development (Excel & Power BI) Process Automation & Optimisation
