About the Role
Our client, a Durban-based investment-led financial planning business, is seeking a high-performing Paraplanner to join their expert team in Morningside, Durban. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing professional financial guidance to business people and their families, ensuring their wealth is grown and protected.
Key Responsibilities
- Research & Analysis: Conducting investigation, research, and information gathering on financial advice matters.
- Report Drafting: Preparing client reports and Records of Advice (RoA) documents.
- Quality Control: Checking the accuracy of policy schedules and client reports prepared by the admin team.
- Compliance: Assisting with practice-wide compliance duties and adhering to FAIS and FICA standards.
- Process Management: Managing the client review process and assisting in setting up advice and administration systems.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Communicating with service providers, clients, and team members on specific projects.
- Strategic Support: Developing client-facing templates and contributing to the business’s client touch-point strategy.
Requirements
Education: Matric certificate is essential.
Qualifications
Currently attained or progressing toward a PGDip in Financial Planning or a CFP® designation.
Experience
At least 5 years of experience at a CAT I FSP, covering investments, long-term insurance, employee benefits, and medical aid/gap cover.
Technical Skills
High competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and reputable CRM software such as AtWork, EliteWealth, or Xplan.
Industry Knowledge
Strong understanding of the financial services ecosystem, including FAIS/FICA legislation and compliance rules.
Soft Skills
Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical/maths skills, and excellent written and interpersonal communication.
