About the Role
K2 Recruit is partnering with a leading technology-driven business to appoint a highly capable Program Team Leader Solutions to lead the delivery, governance, and operational oversight of critical software development and solutions environments.
This role is responsible for driving structured delivery, technical leadership, operational stability, and customer confidence across the solutions function. The successful candidate will oversee software delivery teams, manage technical and operational priorities, support remediation and incident management processes, and ensure all applications and systems align with business, architectural, security, and service delivery requirements.

Role Purpose
The Program Team Leader Solutions is responsible for providing strategic, operational, and technical leadership across the software development and solutions delivery function to ensure the successful design, development, integration, deployment, and support of business-critical applications and systems.
The role will ensure delivery quality, system stability, technical alignment, team performance, and customer satisfaction while supporting continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives through modern development and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
Software Delivery & Oversight
- Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of applications and solutions
- Ensure delivery aligns to agreed timelines, scope, quality standards, and business requirements
- Coordinate application enhancements and optimisation initiatives
- Maintain visibility of delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Define and enforce development standards and architectural principles
- Review technical designs and implementation approaches
- Provide guidance on complex technical solutions and integration requirements
- Support long-term scalability, maintainability, and operational stability of systems
Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Lead, mentor, and support software development and technical delivery teams
- Conduct performance management, coaching, and development initiatives
- Ensure effective workload balancing and resource allocation
- Drive accountability, delivery discipline, and continuous improvement within teams
System Integration & Interoperability
- Oversee integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms
- Define and maintain API and integration standards
- Ensure stability and interoperability across systems and environments
- Support troubleshooting and optimisation of integrations
Remediation & Incident Management
- Lead remediation stand-ups, action tracking, and issue resolution initiatives
- Ensure incidents and escalations are resolved within SLA commitments
- Support root cause analysis and preventative improvement initiatives
- Partner with customer and operational teams to drive issue closure
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to secure development practices and governance standards
- Support vulnerability remediation and operational risk management
- Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and security initiatives where required
- Ensure solutions align to organisational compliance and security requirements
Continuous Improvement & DevOps Enablement
- Drive adoption of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and automation practices
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and delivery maturity
- Promote modern development methodologies and workflow optimisation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the solutions environment
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
- Provide regular delivery, remediation, and operational status reporting
- Communicate timelines, risks, milestones, and performance updates to leadership and stakeholders
- Engage effectively with technical teams, operational leadership, customers, and vendors
- Support alignment between business, operational, and technical priorities
SLA & Operational Performance Management
- Ensure delivery and support activities align to agreed SLA commitments
- Monitor incident, request, and RCA performance metrics
- Escalate operational risks impacting service delivery
- Maintain oversight of priority operational incidents and requests
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, IT, or related field advantageous
Experience
- 7+ years experience within software development, application support, technical delivery, or solutions leadership environments
- Proven experience leading technical teams and delivery resources
- Strong exposure to software delivery lifecycles, deployment, testing, and support processes
- Experience managing multiple workstreams, operational priorities, and delivery dependencies
- Experience managing remediation efforts, operational incidents, escalations, and root cause analysis
- Exposure to Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and automation practices advantageous
- Exposure to enterprise-scale, managed services, retail, or multi-site support environments advantageous
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of application architecture, enterprise systems, APIs, and integrations
- Understanding of secure development practices and operational governance
- Strong reporting, communication, and stakeholder management capability
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and structured problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate effectively within high-pressure, SLA-driven environments
