About the Role
As a Sales Representative for our company, you will play a crucial role in growing our client base within your assigned territory and expanding our contracted truck stop network to support client route coverage. You will be responsible for achieving monthly and quarterly revenue and volume targets as agreed with the General Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and commercially astute individual to join our team and contribute to the company’s success.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow the company’s active client base (fleet operators) within your assigned territory
- Grow the contracted truck stop network to support client route coverage
- Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue and volume targets as agreed with the GM
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client and site interactions in the CRM
- Represent the company at industry events, truck stops, and fleet depots
- Provide the GM with regular pipeline and territory updates
- Ensure clients are fully onboarded and actively using the company driver app and platform
- Collaborate with the operations team to resolve supply and service issues efficiently
- Identify, approach, and contract new truck stops along key freight corridors in your territory
- Maintain and grow existing truck stop relationships
- Negotiate supply terms, pricing agreements, and service levels with truck stop operators
- Monitor site compliance, stock availability, and service quality at contracted sites
- Resolve operational issues between fleet clients and truck stop sites quickly and professionally
- Expand geographic coverage to support client route requirements, including cross-border corridors
- Prospect and acquire new fleet clients owner-operators, medium fleets, and large logistics groups
- Onboard new clients onto the company platform and driver app
- Manage existing client accounts monthly check-ins, query resolution, relationship deepening
- Identify upsell opportunities: additional routes, additional vehicles, cross-border supply
- Provide clients with fuel spend reporting and demonstrate the value of the platform
- Act as the primary point of escalation for client service issues in your territory
Requirements
- Fluent in both Afrikaans and English written and spoken
- Proven B2B sales experience in an industry that serves the trucking or road freight market
- A valid South African driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively within the territory and occasionally beyond it
- Self-motivated with a strong ability to manage your own time and pipeline without being micromanaged
- Commercially astute with an understanding of margin, volume, pricing, and value proposition
- An existing network of contacts in the road freight market truck stop operators, fleet managers, logistics companies or hauliers
