Job Description
Process Technician required for a reputable automotive manufacturing company based in East London, Eastern Cape
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Three to Five years relevant experience as a Process Technician
- Working knowledge of the Injection Moulding process
- Proficiency in technical set-up of injection moulding machines and working knowledge on establishment of robust processes
- Work with Production Assistant and Quality Department on approval of parts
- Ability to interpret part drawings, knowledge of plastic part quality requirements, and computer systems required
- Automotive component manufacturing industry experience
- Must have an understanding of the moulds, materials, injection process and machinery
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for timely changeover, set up injection moulds and work stations
- Work with Production Assistant and Quality Department on approval of parts
- Aid in Design jigs, fixtures, conveyer systems, robotics as necessary to meet or improve standards
- Assist Production Assistants in shift operation as requested
- Document tooling damage and/or processing issues, maintenance issues as appropriate
- Sets up all machining equipment related to each job change
- Works in a team to minimize machine down time and meet or exceed production standards
- Understands all procedures associated with the handling of hazardous waste
- Performs all maintenance of the tools/machines as required
- Observes machine operation to detect defects or machine malfunction
- Performs workspace housekeeping
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to interpret part drawings, knowledge of plastic part quality requirements, and computer systems required
- Must have an understanding of the moulds, materials, injection process, and machinery
