Job Description

To perform all the duties and responsibilities related to the production and manufacturing activities of the company, as well as to carry out all related tasks required in the workshop to aid in a successful production and manufacturing operation of the company Set machines to read programs and perform the correct functions Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as CNC turning, drilling, tapping, milling, chamfering and other machining operations Read and understand drawings and works instructions to carry out production tasks correctly Ensure correct use of machining tools and equipment Always maintain the condition of machining tools and equipment Prepare and feed raw materials into the machines Prepare test runs to assess NC program outputs Inspect and measure pre-machined and finished jobs Send pre-machined jobs for QC release Send final and finished jobs for QC release Carry out daily inspection on the condition of the machine before operation Constantly monitor the operation of the machines during production Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure proper functionality Maintain correct use of PPE and safety equipment Assist with assembling of valves and piping systems, as required Assist with pressure testing procedures, as required Assist in the workshop and assembly areas, as required Sort and organise machine shop and CNC areas Go out to do deliveries and collections, as required General housekeeping of machine shop and CNC areas Any other ad-hoc tasks that may be required from time to time 3-5 years working experience Matric / Grade 12 Any other mechanial engineering qualification or skills straining certification will be an added advantage. G-code training certificate will be an added advantage. Experience with valve manufacturing will be an added advantage Experience with pipe fabrication will be an added advantage Experience with any other Metal and Engineering industry will be an added advantage Good knowledge on Fanuc, Siemens, Syntech control systems Numeric and mathematical literacy Strong understanding of units of measure Strong planning skills Strong communication skills Ability to work well under pressure Good knowledge of tooling and setup Good knowledge of G-code programming Must have a valid drivers licence Ability to operate a forklift will be an added advantage Must be willing to work night shifts and overtime as required. Own reliable transport will be an added advantage Residing within a 20km radius from the company will be preferable [Longmeadow Business Estate East, Modderfontein, JHB.] PLEASE NOTE: The job requires a physically strong individual, who can lift heavy objects.
