About the Role

Takora is seeking an experienced Automation / Electrical Projects Engineer to join our team in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical automation and a passion for hands-on problem-solving. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist across design, procurement, workshop testing, site support, and commissioning activities
  • Read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues in industrial environments
  • Design, wire, test, and commission control panels
  • Develop and implement instrumentation and control loops
  • Implement VSDs, motor control, and pump control logic
  • Conduct I/O testing and system commissioning
  • Collaborate with design, procurement, workshop testing, site support, and commissioning teams

Requirements

  • Relevant Electrical / Automation Engineering qualification (Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar)
  • 3–7 years in a similar automation / electrical projects environment
  • Experience in PLC programming and fault finding
  • SCADA / HMI configuration experience
  • Knowledge of Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP
  • Industrial networking and communication troubleshooting experience
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience in industrial environments

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) are not required for this role.
