Gauteng: Commercial Vehicle Foreman (Qualified Diesel Technician) – Gauteng, Midvaal posted by Select Motor Recruitment

• Oversee daily workshop operations to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency
• Allocate jobs to technicians and monitor progress throughout the day
• Ensure adherence to manufacturer standards, dealership policies, and health & safety regulations
• Maintain a high-quality standard of workmanship and ensure all repairs are completed correctly, first time

Technical Expertise

• Provide advanced diagnostic support for commercial vehicles and heavy-duty trucks
• Assist technicians in solving complex mechanical and electrical faults
• Perform quality checks on completed work and ensure repairs meet OEM specifications
• Carry out test drives and final inspections where required

Customer & Job Management

• Communicate with service advisors and customers regarding repair progress and technical findings
• Ensure accurate job costing, timekeeping, and documentation
• Support with warranty processes and ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements

Team Leadership

• Mentor and support workshop technicians, apprentices, and staff
• Identify skills gaps and assist with ongoing training and development
• Uphold a positive and productive workshop culture

Requirements:

• Qualified Diesel Technician (Trade Test essential)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a foreman / team leader role within a commercial vehicle dealership, workshop environment
• Strong diagnostic knowledge of commercial vehicles, engines, gearboxes, electrical systems, and hydraulics
• Valid driver’s license (Code EC advantageous)
• Ability to work under pressure and manage a high-volume workshop
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Motor Industry experience Essential!!
