About the Role

We are seeking a Policy and Business Environment Consultant to join our team of experts in providing strategic decision-making support to companies investing in Africa. As a part-time, remote consultant, you will be responsible for analyzing policy shifts, anticipating political trends’ impact on business environments, and producing professional analytical reports and consulting recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct policy analysis: Interpret policy changes and assess their impact on the business and investment environment.
  • Provide policy consulting: Deconstruct the underlying logic behind local decision-making and offer actionable strategies for clients to navigate these dynamics.
  • Implement risk mitigation: Anticipate potential political and policy-related risks and propose preventive or mitigating measures.
  • Produce regular briefings on political and business developments within your specific country, or participate in specialized consulting projects.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in policy research, government consulting, parliamentary affairs, political party think tanks, or political risk analysis.
  • Understanding of the decision-making logic and driving forces behind policy evolution within your country of residence.
  • Established information channels and strong capabilities in information vetting and critical assessment.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to anticipate shifting trends within the political and business landscape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher; candidates majoring in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Economics, African Area Studies, or related fields are preferred.
