Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain production schedules for new capital machinery and rebuild machinery using Visual Manufacturing MRP, Excel, and MS Projects
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on production performance, manufacturing capacity, workforce requirements, and schedule adherence
  • Coordinate with project managers, sales, procurement, engineering, and production departments to sequence manufacturing, assembly, and installations
  • Quantify and report costs on all planned production jobs to the Financial Cost Accountant, considering appropriate margins
  • Accurately maintain and manage the Business Central database for all released and historical production orders
  • Chair production foreman tracking meetings and lead cross-departmental planning meetings
  • Manage, monitor, and report on additional machine modification production orders (budget vs actuals)
  • Develop KPI models and productivity/efficiency recommendations for executive management
  • Oversee sub-contracting liaison, field service order releases, and monthly machinery delivery reporting
  • Provide continual improvement of planning, reporting, and engineering release processes
  • Supervise and develop planning team members

Experience & Qualifications

  • Matric essential; BTech in Mechanical Engineering advantageous
  • Qualification in Project Management essential
  • Minimum 5 years in production planning or management within a manufacturing and fabrication environment
  • Knowledge of Visual Manufacturing or similar MRP/ERP systems
  • MS Projects experience required
  • Business Central system experience advantageous
  • Experience with ISO quality management systems
  • Strong project management, organisational, and communication skills
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport
