Job Description

About the Role

We are excited to offer a permanent position as a Mechanical Draughtsman within our team at R.A.W. GROUP, commencing January 2025. As a skilled draughtsman with experience in mechanical design and production, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality products that meet our clients’ requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Utilise work orders, sketches, written and verbal instructions to determine job requirements.
Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify compliance with specification.
Program and maintain current file revisions of all clients parts.
Prepare detailed standardised work instructions and set-up sheets.
Processing customer drawing requirements as quickly and as accurately as possible.
Liaising with customers when required to ensure drawings are correct and suitable for manufacture.
Handling of all paperwork.
Communication between different departments on current projects and requirements thereof.
Liaise with clients.
Concept design.
Production design and draughting.
Liaise with the costing and production department.
Production of all fabrications drawings upon request to the relevant standards and procedures.
Ensure that all drawings and work instructions are kept up to date.
Ensure the quality of products and services is maintained and make improvements.

Requirements

Proven work experience as a Draughtsman
Tertiary qualification as a Draughtsman
National Senior Certificate
Drivers licence
Competent in Microsoft applications
Hands-on experience with computer-aided design software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong spatial perception, technically minded & a creative thinker.
