About the Role
Our client, a leading South African fabric, wallpaper and interior soft goods distributor; specializing in textiles, upholstery fabrics, curtain fabrics, outdoor fabrics, wall coverings, and contract fabric collections, is seeking to appoint a dynamic Showroom Sales Consultant to join their George team.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers entering the showroom in a professional manner.
- Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products and solutions.
- Provide detailed information on product features, specifications, pricing, and availability.
- Conduct product demonstrations to highlight benefits and applications.
- Address customer enquiries, concerns, and complaints efficiently.
- Ensure equal assistance to all customers and collaborate with other sales representatives when assisting their clients.
- Promote and upsell showroom products to maximize sales opportunities.
- Provide accurate information regarding stock availability and delivery timelines.
- Process sales transactions and ensure documentation is completed correctly.
- Achieve or exceed individual sales targets and contribute to overall showroom performance.
- Utilize social media platforms to promote products and generate customer leads.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Proven experience in retail or showroom sales.
- Experience in textiles, fabrics, or interior design industry preferred.
- Industry-related qualification advantageous.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to use social media platforms for marketing and lead generation.
- Strong product knowledge development and sales techniques.

Operational Support
- Assist the sales team with product information, samples, and client queries.
- Manage cutting services and maintain the cutting room area.
- Support stock control by reordering items and assisting with deliveries and dispatch.

Showroom Maintenance and Security
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom environment.
- Ensure showroom displays are updated regularly.
- Maintain workstation security and adhere to cybersecurity protocols.
Reporting and Compliance
- Submit weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Maintain daily records of sales and customer foot traffic.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Liaise with IT support when technical issues arise.
Professional Conduct
- Maintain a professional appearance and high standards of personal hygiene.
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a customer-focused attitude.
- Utilize company tools, systems, and training platforms effectively.
