Job Description
Introduction:
Odin is building the future of education in South Africa — connecting forward-thinking corporates with high-impact education solutions and building a rapidly expanding client base doing it. Our aim is to triple that base within two years.
We’re seeking a youthful, energetic individual to grow with us — a keen Business Development Associate with commercial acumen, able to connect with the right people at the right companies, identify genuine opportunities, and join an ambitious team that is shaping how corporates invest in education in South Africa. This business has a space that needs an owner. We’re looking for the right person to fill it.
Position Summary:
You will engage corporate decision-makers and introduce them to an opportunity that is changing how forward-thinking companies deploy their B-BBEE investment— by directing their compliance funding into education solutions that drive genuine change. Your job is to have intelligent conversations, understand where each company is in their thinking, and identify who is ready to move.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structured virtual discovery calls with inbound corporate leads
- Qualify prospects against defined criteria
- Communicate the Odin value proposition clearly and confidently
- Accurately assess and record where each prospect is in their decision-making process
- Escalate live, ready-to-engage opportunities to the Business Development Lead
- Maintain an organized, up-to-date pipeline of all contacts and conversations
- Attend in-person meetings in Johannesburg as required
- Identify additional opportunities that emerge through conversation
What We’re Looking for?
- 1–2 years of experience in a commercial, sales, account management, or client-facing role
- Comfortable and confident conducting professional meetings over video call
- Able to hold a structured, confident conversation with a CFO, Finance Manager, or Transformation Manager
- Strong listening skills and natural curiosity
- Well-organised, with the ability to manage a pipeline and follow through consistently
- Professional presentation and written communication
- Johannesburg-based with own transport
Who Will Thrive in This Role?
This role suits someone who:
- Wants to build a commercial career in a sector that matters — and is ready to move fast
- Finds satisfaction in qualifying and understanding a situation, not just in closing
- Is reliable, methodical, and takes their pipeline seriously
- Wants to build genuine expertise in a specialist, high-value sector
- Is motivated by accountability and building something with long-term value
The Bigger Picture:
Odin is growing — deliberately and fast. We are expanding into new markets, developing new solutions, and growing our reach across South Africa. Our compliance funding vertical is the engine driving that growth — and as we scale, that engine needs a dedicated owner. This role is built with that future in mind.
Commercially minded, hungry to learn, and motivated by building something that becomes yours — this is your entry point.
What We Offer:
- A competitive basic salary with an incentive structure.
- Full training and immersion in a fast-moving, innovative sector at the intersection of education, technology, and corporate investment
- Direct exposure to senior corporate deal-making from day one
- A defined path to owning your own revenue space as the business scales
To apply, send your CV and a short note on why Odin and why now.
Preference will be given to employees from the designated groups in line with the provisions of the Employment Equity Act, No. 55 of 1998
Jendamark Automation reserves the right not to make an appointment. Applications will not qualify the applicant to an interview or appointment, as only short listed candidates will be contacted for interviews.
