About the Role
Six Sense Consulting is seeking an experienced Corporate Legal Manager to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal advice to the CEO and EXCO, as well as manage projects and contracts using a Document management system. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise CEO and EXCO on strategic legal matters and organisational companies’ requirements
- Present legal advisory notes in business-friendly language and explain all implications to management
- Manage projects and contracts using a Document management system such as SharePoint or similar
- Chair disciplinary matters and provide HR with labour law advice
- Develop and implement sound business plans with measurable outcomes
- Set and manage priorities judiciously
- Review and assess variance reports, budgeting and providing insights for business performance measurement
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and provide support across functional teams
- Write thoroughly researched and well-presented legal advisory notes
- Review and vet legal contracts, draft new contracts, MOU’s and SLAs
- Formulate legislative drafts and policies
- Monitor compliance requirements of a section 3A agency of government as well as Tender Regulations
Requirements
- A university degree in law (e.g. BProc/BCom Law or LLB) is required
- At least five years proven litigation experience
- A minimum of five years in senior legal advisory or managerial role
- Working knowledge of, but not limited to the PFMA (and Treasury Regulations), Companies Act, POPIA (and related laws), Labour Legislation, Cyber Crimes Act, Property Control Trust Act, and all other applicable statutory and regulatory frameworks
Qualifications
- A master’s degree in law or related field is an added advantage
