About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Johannesburg, responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy earthmoving equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on heavy earthmoving or mining equipment and possess strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and powertrain systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair heavy earthmoving equipment including excavators, dump trucks, graders, and loaders
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out efficient repairs to minimize downtime
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Conduct engine overhauls, hydraulic repairs, and component replacements
- Attend to breakdowns on-site and in the workshop
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and OEM specifications
- Accurately complete job cards and maintenance reports
Requirements
- Trade Test Certificate as a Diesel Mechanic
- Minimum 35 years experience working on heavy earthmoving or mining equipment
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and powertrain systems
- Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Valid drivers license
- Willingness to work overtime and travel to sites when required
