About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Supervisor to join our team in Johannesburg, responsible for overseeing solar installations and ensuring compliance with electrical regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections before, during and after solar installations or system upgrades
- Perform quality control checks to ensure neat, safe and compliant installations
- Inspect electrical installations and issue or sign off Certificates of Compliance where required
- Identify installation or workmanship issues and report findings to management
- Compile and submit detailed site inspection and quality reports
- Oversee and support subcontractors and installation teams on site
- Assist with solar system fault-finding and troubleshooting
- Act as the on-site point of authority while maintaining communication with coordinators and managers
- Attend to escalated client technical issues that require site intervention
- Participate in standby or after-hours support on a rotational basis for urgent client power issues
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all sites
Requirements
- 3-Phase Wiremans License (non-negotiable)
- Certified and registered to issue and sign off 3-Phase Certificates of Compliance
- Proven experience as a 3-phase installation electrician
- Solid understanding of electrical compliance and Occupational Health and Safety regulations in South Africa
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and client-facing skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Physically fit and comfortable working on active installation sites
- Competent in the use of electrical tools, testing equipment, and hand and power tools
- Valid drivers license
Qualifications
- Solar PV installation experience will be advantageous
- Previous exposure to supervising teams or subcontractors is a plus
