As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will work closely with clients to understand their financial needs and provide expert advice and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare VAT workings for monthly VAT submission to Tax Authority (1 week per month)
• Captures monthly bank statements on manual bank accounts
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Enter invoices in SAP for payments
• Prepare payment packs for payments to be made
• General payment admin (Sends proof of payments to vendors, communicates with vendors to confirm banking d
• Assistance with supporting calculations and disclosures related to the Annual Financial Statements
• Preparation of workings for Quarterly Management Accounts for SARB regulatory reporting
• Sends out Credit Card statements for capture
• Weekly cash reporting to Group Treasury
• Complete online IXBRL format for Annual Financial Statements for regulator submission
• Ad hoc admin activities

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
• Proficent in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Title: Financial Accountant
Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our client’s team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, and will be responsible for managing the financial health of our organization. The Financial Accountant will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Responsibilities:
– Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP standards
– Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes
– Manage the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all financial data
– Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management
– Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
– Maintain and improve internal controls and processes
– Work closely with external auditors during the audit process
– Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards and regulations

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or a relevant degree in Finance 
– Minimum 75% completion of the Graduate Trainee Program, OR minimum 2 years’ experience at C-Upper level
