About the Role
Qetello Holdings is recruiting on behalf of a well-established logistics company operating nationally within the long-distance transport sector. We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Fleet Controller to oversee and optimise linehaul operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and optimise linehaul schedules to ensure on-time deliveries and effective resource utilisation
- Monitor vehicle movements and adherence to planned routes and schedules
- Collaborate closely with dispatchers, fleet controllers, and branch management to ensure seamless operations
- Ensure the fleet is roadworthy, compliant, and operationally efficient
- Coordinate with workshops to schedule routine maintenance and address breakdowns promptly
- Track fleet utilisation, fuel consumption, and operational performance to support cost optimisation
- Ensure all operations comply with company policies, industry standards, and national transport regulations
- Maintain accurate records relating to vehicle compliance and operational requirements
- Lead, manage, and motivate drivers and support staff to achieve high performance standards
- Promote effective communication, accountability, and teamwork within operations
- Liaise with customers to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds expectations
- Resolve operational issues or delays in a professional and timeous manner
- Provide regular operational reports and performance feedback to senior management
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (non-negotiable)
- Minimum 3 years experience in fleet planning and control within the transport or logistics industry
- Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
