About the Role

A leading organisation is seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager: Finance and IT to lead the finance and technology functions across the business, driving financial governance, operational excellence, compliance, reporting, and IT performance to support the organisation’s long-term strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the full finance function
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow
  • Prepare annual financial statements and oversee external audits
  • Ensure accurate monthly management accounts and reporting
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement across financial operations
  • Oversee forex exposure and support cost optimisation initiatives
  • Regulatory & Compliance: Oversee procurement, supplier payments, inventory, and asset controls
  • Provide strategic financial insight to the CEO and Board
  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support decision-making
  • Support governance, business planning, and executive reporting requirements
  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, investors, and key stakeholders
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, systems, and network performance
  • Manage external IT service providers and SLA performance
  • Drive system enhancements, automation, and business scalability initiatives
  • Manage IT expenditure within approved budgets

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CA(SA) or CIMA qualification essential
  • MBA advantageous
  • Minimum 10+ years post-qualification experience
  • 15+ years experience in senior finance leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, controls, and governance
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems experience (Sage advantageous)
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking abilities
