Salary: R35,000 R45,000 CTC per month (Market-related)

Company Description Our client is a prominent South African fuel logistics and commercial on-road refuelling group with a significant footprint across six African countries. Operating a fast-paced, high-performance environment. They manage multiple subsidiaries and a dedicated workforce characterized by high institutional knowledge and long-term tenure.

Job Summary Sagen Advisory is recruiting an experienced, dynamic Human Resources Manager to lead the people function for a group of companies. This is a standalone, senior role reporting directly to the CEO. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full HR value chain for approximately 65 employees, focusing on building a people-first culture, ensuring legislative compliance, and driving internal communication and development.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition: Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job profiling, sourcing, interviewing, and executing comprehensive onboarding programmes.
  • Performance & Development: Implement a consistent performance review framework, coordinate training and upskilling initiatives, and manage WSP/ATR submissions to the relevant SETA.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as the primary contact for all ER matters, managing disciplinary processes end-to-end and facilitating grievance and conflict resolution in line with the LRA.
  • Payroll Management: Process monthly payroll for the group, ensuring accurate capturing of changes and full SARS compliance (PAYE, UIF, SDL).
  • Compliance & Policy: Develop and maintain HR policies, manuals, and employee handbooks in alignment with BCEA, LRA, EEA, and SDA.
  • B-BBEE & Transformation: Drive the groups B-BBEE strategy and manage Employment Equity reporting and planning.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate employee records, produce monthly HR dashboards for leadership, and oversee exit processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related field (Essential).
  • Minimum of 10 years of practical corporate HR experience.
  • Proven experience managing a standalone HR function across a group structure.
  • Strong background in payroll management (VIP Payroll/Sage VIP preferred).
  • Experience with WSP/ATR SETA submissions.
  • In-depth knowledge of South African labour legislation.
