As part of their continued growth, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our client’s team as a Junior Cost Accountant.
Job Summary:
The Junior Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost control within the organization. Reporting directly to the Senior Cost Accountant, the Junior Cost Accountant will support the finance team by analyzing cost data, monitoring inventory levels, conducting variance analysis, and preparing financial reports.
Responsibilities:
– Collect, analyze, and interpret cost data to identify areas of inefficiency and recommend cost-saving strategies.
– Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring alignment with the company’s accounting policies and procedures.
– Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis.
– Conduct regular variance analysis between actual costs and budgeted costs, providing insights into cost drivers and deviations.
– Support the Senior Cost Accountant in developing and implementing cost control measures to optimize operational expenses.
– Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and sales, to ensure accurate cost allocations and pricing decisions.
– Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing key inputs related to cost management.
– Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in cost accounting.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
– 1-2 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within the FMCG industry.
– Sound knowledge of cost accounting principles, techniques, and best practices.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software systems.
– Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
– Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
– Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
