Job Description

An excellent career opportunity for a motivated individual exists in the Engineering department for an Electrician, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager based at Epping Plant. Purpose of the role: Responsible for the total electrical maintenance and repair of all machinery and company assets, including buildings and premises, as well as the continuous modification and upgrading of machines. This is done to ensure optimal productivity and plant efficiency. Responsibilities Ensuring the total electrical maintenance: Planned services Attending to breakdowns Assisting operators with fault finding Annual shutdowns New installations Monitoring of machinery Ensure that machinery adhere to Like New Standard Ensure overall plant efficiency and productivity Implementing regular electrical modifications and upgrading of machinery. Providing regular continuous improvements suggestions as well as the subsequent implementation thereof. This is done to ease future maintenance, lighten day-to-day workload, and to improve the throughput and operation of machinery Lead, control and manage the performance of subordinates. Manage day-to-day issues. Organise training and development of subordinates. Ensure optimal performance plant efficiencies, as well as fostering a positive work attitude among team members. Always ensure occupational safety and housekeeping. Conducting regular safety and housekeeping inspections. Implementing safe working standards and procedures. Overseeing that subordinates adhere to safe working practices and regulations to minimize unnecessary injuries on duty. Ensuring a safe and neat working environment for optimal National Senior Certificate Trade Tested Electrician N2 Electrical Qualification Occupational Certificate: Electrician N3 Electrical Qualification (Desirable) Have 5 years experience in a like environment and industry Have PLC working experience Have literacy and numerical skills Have electrical insight and understanding Be able to think critically and analytically Have good communication skills- both written and verbal Able to work independently and take initiative Have electrical insight and understanding Be able to think critically and analytically Be able to solve complex problems and work under pressure In line with our Employment Equity Plans, preference will be given to EE candidates.
