About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, improving efficiencies, enhancing profitability, and leading a high-performing Business Control team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Control team to ensure high-quality output and business continuity
- Partner with executive leadership and senior management to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations
- Develop a strong understanding of the business model, operational drivers, and market dynamics
- Translate business strategy into financial targets, KPIs, and actionable plans
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and long-range planning processes
- Analyse financial results, variances, risks, and opportunities to improve business performance
- Provide decision support through financial modelling, profitability analysis, and business cases
- Challenge commercial decisions and investments to ensure optimal ROI and value creation
- Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, ensuring accountability and corrective action where needed
- Identify and implement cost optimisation and process improvement initiatives
- Support internal and external audit processes as well as group reporting requirements
- Drive digitalisation and automation initiatives within finance processes and controls
Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
CA(SA), CIMA, or similar qualification advantageous
Proven experience in business controlling, FP&A, commercial Finance, or a similar strategic finance role
Strong business acumen with the ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders
Qualifications
