About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, improving efficiencies, enhancing profitability, and leading a high-performing Business Control team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Control team to ensure high-quality output and business continuity
  • Partner with executive leadership and senior management to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations
  • Develop a strong understanding of the business model, operational drivers, and market dynamics
  • Translate business strategy into financial targets, KPIs, and actionable plans
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and long-range planning processes
  • Analyse financial results, variances, risks, and opportunities to improve business performance
  • Provide decision support through financial modelling, profitability analysis, and business cases
  • Challenge commercial decisions and investments to ensure optimal ROI and value creation
  • Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, ensuring accountability and corrective action where needed
  • Identify and implement cost optimisation and process improvement initiatives
  • Support internal and external audit processes as well as group reporting requirements
  • Drive digitalisation and automation initiatives within finance processes and controls

Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

CA(SA), CIMA, or similar qualification advantageous

Proven experience in business controlling, FP&A, commercial Finance, or a similar strategic finance role

Strong business acumen with the ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders

Qualifications
