About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled National Manager First Mile to lead our national logistics operation in Johannesburg. As the driving force behind our first mile operations, you will be responsible for leading and optimising collections performance, ensuring strict compliance with operational frameworks and service level agreements while continuously improving efficiency, cost control, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational plans, SOPs, and control frameworks
- Manage contract performance, including KPI tracking, reporting, and client engagement
- Drive collections performance, ensuring Day 0 and Day 1 targets are consistently achieved
- Oversee fleet utilisation and cost optimisation strategies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards
- Analyse operational data to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities
- Lead and develop regional and site teams to deliver consistent performance
- Manage budgets, track variances, and implement corrective actions
- Drive training and capability development across all operational levels
Requirements
- Matric with a relevant logistics or supply chain qualification (advantageous)
- 5–7 years’ experience in contract or operational management
- 3–5 years in a leadership role within logistics or a similar environment
- Strong knowledge of SLA management, compliance, and operational controls
- Experience in fleet management, budgeting, and performance optimisation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
