About the Role
The Natural Adabas Developer role involves performing system application programming and related analysis tasks, with a focus on designing, building, and maintaining mainframe application systems using Natural 4GL and Adabas. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and implement application programs using Natural 4GL and Adabas.
- Analyse business and technical requirements to translate them into functional solutions.
- Conduct impact and feasibility studies to guide technical decisions.
- Maintain and enhance existing systems to ensure optimal performance and stability.
- Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers to maintain coding standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align systems development with business needs.
- Ensure adherence to development and change control standards.
- Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation and user guides.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production systems.
Requirements
- Matric (Garde 12) or equivalent qualification
- BSc Information Systems, BCom Business, Accounting, or a related field
