About the Role
The Natural Adabas Developer will be responsible for performing system application programming and related analysis tasks, focusing on designing, building, and maintaining mainframe applications using Natural 4GL and Adabas. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and implement application programs using Natural 4GL and Adabas.
- Analyse business and technical requirements to translate them into functional solutions.
- Conduct impact and feasibility studies to guide technical decisions.
- Maintain and enhance existing systems to ensure optimal performance and stability.
- Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers to maintain coding standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align systems development with business needs.
- Ensure adherence to development and change control standards.
- Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation and user guides.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production systems.
Requirements
- Matric (Garde 12)
- BSc Information Systems, BCom Business, Accounting, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in Natural/Adabas development.
- Strong exposure to BATCH and Online processing.
- Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining mainframe applications.
