About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client in the Mining Industry is urgently seeking a Procurement Manager to join their team in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading procurement initiatives, managing risk exposure, and driving cost savings across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess the level of issue-based risk exposures in the area of responsibility by considering exposures to the business, financial and legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
- Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation, and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
- Ensure an enabling climate/culture
- Manage labor stability by minimizing labor turnover
- Achieve agreed KPI targets
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels and networks between customers and suppliers
- Integrate the Procurement, Maintenance, Operations and IT Processes
- Conduct independent reviews of key leverage contracts
- Achieve synergies and leverage opportunities across sites
- Conduct strategic vendor assessments and rationalism
- Deliver on agreed Balanced Scorecard objectives
- Identify, develop, and implement opportunities to improve the group’s position in the marketplace
- Review existing arrangements to drive down TCO for Suppliers
- Implement, source, and manage Group Leverage Contracts
- Implement and manage Service Level Agreements on strategic Leverage Contracts
- Analyse audit findings and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate Procurement focus group and participate in cross-functional focus groups
- Manage the Procurement budget, cost, and/or any other related reporting
- Control costs in responsibility
Requirements
- Relevant B.Sc. Engineering Degree
- 8 years experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably 2 years managerial experience
- Chartered Institute Procurement and Supply (CIPS)
- Minimum 3 years of Engineering background
- Experience in IMS, EBMS, SAP, and Coupa
- Financial Acumen
