Johannesburg: Product Specialist – Orthopedics

Job Description

The Product Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing business strategies to drive growth, profitability and market share expansion in the Orthopedic markets. This role will require a deep understanding of the Orthopedic industries, as well as exceptional leadership, communication and project management skills. Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience: Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Sales/Marketing/Health Sciences or similar (nursing background advantageous) Minimum of 2 years experience in an Orthopedic or Spine operational role Proven track record in operations, business development, sales, and marketing Experience leading and managing cross‑functional teams Previous sales experience in hospital/theatre environment essential Valid drivers license, passport and CRICE certification Experience in both instrument and consumable sales, including government procurement policies Duties and Responsibilities: Business Strategy and Planning: Assist in implementing and driving business strategy Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product launches, marketing campaigns, and sales strategies Leadership and Management: Support agents and act as the link between them and the company Foster collaboration and accountability within the team Assist with planning strategic trainings, masterclasses, and events Market Development and Sales: Build and maintain relationships with surgeons and Key Opinion Leaders in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and Bloemfontein Promote and sell products, striving to meet and exceed sales targets Attend tenders, symposiums, congresses, and conferences Product Management: Manage instruments, sets, and stock levels to ensure operational readiness Handle sample boxes and workshop sets Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards Financial Management: Assist with managing budgets and monitoring financial performance. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and management skills Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions Strong business acumen and financial management skills Willingness to travel locally and internationally, including into Africa
