About the Role
As a Senior Operation Bookkeeper at Macrocomm, you will be responsible for taking full operational ownership of the finance function, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in financial transactions, and maintaining strict oversight of balance sheet accounts and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full operational ownership of the finance function from source documents through to trial balance
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly processing of all financial transactions is accurate, complete, and on time
- Manage and review:
- Accounts payable and supplier reconciliations
- Accounts receivable and debtor management
- Bank and cashbook processing and reconciliations
- General ledger postings and journal entries
- Control month end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met without exception
- Maintain strict oversight of balance sheet accounts and reconciliations
- Monitor and actively manage cash flow, identifying risks and shortfalls early
- Ensure finance operations run independently and reliably without constant oversight
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in bookkeeping with a focus on operational finance
- Highly organized, disciplined, and process-driven with excellent time management skills
- Commercially aware with the ability to explain numbers clearly
- Ability to work in detail while understanding the bigger picture
- Proficient in using accounting/ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Accounting or Finance degree
