A growing organisation is looking for a Junior Financial Accountant to join its finance department. This role is ideal for a recent graduate, article clerk, or junior accountant who is eager to transition into a commercial environment and broaden their accounting experience.
Duties:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations
- Process accounting journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Prepare financial reports and management schedules
- Analyse financial information and investigate account variances
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
- Assist with audit preparation and external audit requests
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
- Support the finance team with ad hoc reporting and accounting projects
Qualifications & Skills:
- BCom
- Minimum 1 year’s accounting experience or completed articles
- Exposure to management accounts advantageous
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skill
