About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Steel Trading Sales Representative to join a leading international trading environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving steel product sales, managing customer and supplier relationships, and supporting commercial trading operations in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. This role reports directly to the Sales Director and requires a commercially strong and technically capable individual with experience in industrial steel or metals trading.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive steel trading and sales activities to achieve revenue and growth targets
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers (local and international)
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply terms
- Support procurement and sourcing activities where required
- Prepare quotations, costing, and commercial proposals
- Monitor market trends, pricing movements, and supply opportunities
- Provide accurate sales reporting, forecasting, and commercial feedback
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order execution and delivery
- Maintain high levels of customer service and relationship management
- Contribute to process improvements within sales and trading operations
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years experience in steel trading, steel sales, or industrial metals environment
Strong understanding of steel products and industrial applications
Experience in sales, procurement, estimating, or project/commercial roles
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Ability to engage confidently with international clients and suppliers
Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
Valid drivers licence and own reliable transport
