About the Role

The General Manager: Operations is a critical leadership position responsible for driving business growth and profitability through effective operational management. The successful candidate will be expected to lead a team of operations staff, develop and implement strategic plans, and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This role requires a strong understanding of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Obtain profit contribution by managing staff and establishing business objectives
Establish and accomplish business objectives while ensuring compliance to SLAs
Develop and implement strategic plans through studying technological and financial opportunities
Execute effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organizing, and decision-making to attain profit targets
Coordinate efforts by establishing procurement, production, field, and technical services policies and practices
Assign accountabilities, plan, monitor, appraise job results, develop a climate for information sharing, and provide development opportunities
Build and uphold the company image through collaborating with customers, community organizations, employees, and enforcing acceptable ethical business practices
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
Stay abreast of current industry trends through attending professional seminars/workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, continuously imploring benchmarking & best global practices
Enhance staff effectiveness through recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counselling, communicating values, strategies & business objectives
Manage staff performance and facilitate improvement through regularly monitoring performance and providing required coaching, support & feedback

Requirements

NQF Level 7: Degree or Advanced Diploma
Matric
Valid Drivers License
5 years’ managerial experience within the Cleaning & Hygiene Services / Facilities Management Industry
Knowledge of OHS Act
ISO 9001 Quality Management System
Risk Management Systems
