IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this mine of the future. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development. Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Strong experience in bulk earthworks, compaction and drainage systems. Proven experience supervising contractors on site. Experience working in multi-contractor environments advantageous. Suitable candidates must have the following work experience Minimum 810 years experience in civil or earthworks construction within mining, infrastructure or industrial environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Civil and Earthworks Supervision Oversee all civil and earthworks activities including excavation, backfilling, compaction, grading, drainage installation and foundation preparation. Ensure all work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications and method statements. Monitor site conditions and ensure appropriate construction techniques are applied. Ensure proper preparation of platforms and foundations to support downstream construction activities. Technical Control and Verification Verify compaction levels, material suitability and layer thickness in accordance with specifications. Ensure correct materials are used for fill, sub-base and structural layers. Monitor tolerances, levels and alignments to ensure accuracy. Identify technical deviations early and implement corrective actions. Contractor Management and Capability Development Provide direct supervision and hands-on guidance to local contractors. Assist contractors in understanding drawings, specifications and execution methods. Identify technical skill gaps and provide practical support to improve execution quality. Ensure contractors understand the importance of correct sequencing and preparation. Quality Control and Integration with QA/QC Work closely with QA/QC Supervisor to ensure inspection and approval of works at key stages. Ensure all testing requirements (e.g. compaction tests, material tests) are completed and compliant. Prevent progression of work where quality standards are not met. Coordination with Construction Team Coordinate civil works with building, electrical and other construction activities. Ensure civil works are completed in time to allow follow-on activities. Participate in coordination meetings to ensure integrated execution S chedule and Progress Management Ensure civil activities are executed in line with project schedule. Monitor progress and identify potential delays. Escalate constraints and assist in implementing corrective actions.
