About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join our team in Menlyn, South Africa. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features, ensuring the application’s performance, quality, scalability, and responsiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
- Ensure application performance, quality, scalability, and responsiveness
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests
- Participate in code and peer reviews to uphold development standards
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines
- Work closely with DevOps and Cloud teams to deploy and manage applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and production issues
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
- Support Agile ceremonies in line with the Agile Working Model (AWM)
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Java and frameworks such as Java EE, Hibernate
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Experience building scalable, high-performance systems
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Git and version control best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in Java software development
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions
