About the Role

As a Finance Intern in our Midrand office, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of financial transactions and supporting the finance team. You will work closely with various departments to ensure seamless operations and contribute to the overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
  • Process invoices using Sage Evolution 200 System (PO system)
  • Verify documents, code, and apply discounts
  • Record creditors on Sage Evolution 200 Accounts Payable System after valid PO and receiving of goods
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of creditor accounts in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain accurate records and reconciliation of vendor accounts to the creditors sub ledger ensuring timely payment of debts
  • Ensure monthly accruals are accounted for
  • Adhere to stationery and inventory purchase procedures
  • Validate food and beverages transactions with the accountant before posting on Sage Evolution 200
  • Engage with creditors and follow up on all enquiries received
  • Ensure payments are made within terms
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and company policies at all times

Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook)
  • Good verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to reconcile accounts accurately and timely
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

Qualifications

  • South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34
  • Must not have participated in the YES programme before
  • Matric
  • Degree in Finance/Accounting (or equivalent)
