About the Role
A well-established and historic agricultural estate in the Cape Winelands is seeking a Financial Accountant (SAIPA) with 12 years post-articles experience to join its finance team. This role offers exposure to a working agricultural environment with multiple operational components, where finance plays an important role in supporting day-to-day farming, production and commercial activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing monthly management accounts and assisting with financial reporting
- Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate reconciliations
- Processing and reviewing journals, accruals and provisions
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Managing accounts payable and receivable oversight
- Assisting with stock and inventory accounting where relevant to agricultural operations
- Supporting cash flow management and financial planning
- Preparing schedules for audits and assisting with audit queries
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax and regulatory requirements
- Contributing to continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls
Requirements
- SAIPA Professional Accountant qualification
- 12 years post-articles experience
- Experience within agriculture, farming, wine estates or related industries preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Solid Excel and financial systems skills
- High attention to detail and strong analytical ability
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong organisational and communication skills
