Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the finance function through bookkeeping, payroll administration, reconciliations, VAT and PAYE submissions, and general financial administration.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Certificate or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field will be advantageous.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in a Financial Clerk, Bookkeeper, Accounts Clerk, or similar finance role.
  • Basic bookkeeping knowledge is essential.
  • Experience with payroll administration.
  • Understanding of VAT, PAYE, UIF, and general statutory compliance.
  • Experience performing reconciliations accurately and efficiently.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate level).
  • Experience on accounting software such as Sage, Pastel, Xero, or similar will be advantageous.
  • Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Capture and process daily financial transactions accurately.
  • Perform debtor and creditor reconciliations.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with monthly management accounts and reporting.
  • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Manage customer account reconciliations and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related administration.
  • Prepare and maintain payroll records.
  • Assist with VAT calculations, submissions, and supporting schedules.
  • Administer PAYE, UIF, and related statutory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and financial documentation.
  • Assist with stock-related financial reconciliations in an imported product distribution environment.
  • Prepare Excel spreadsheets and reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department.
