About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining mechanical machinery and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and operational conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance of all mechanical machinery and equipment
- Carrying out planned maintenance and repairs
- Identification of possible problem areas for further action
- Repairing, installing, rebuilding or decommissioning of plant and machinery as needed
- Regular inspections of production machinery to identify potential faults
- Adherence to SHEQ standards, rules and regulations
Requirements
- Grade 12
- N4 Mechanical qualification
- Recognized Trade Certificate (Fitter/Millwright/Instrumentation Mechanician)
- 6 years post-apprenticeship related experience
- Preferably in MFCG or Corrugated Packaging industry
- Availability for after hours’ work, standby, callouts and weekend overtime as the need arises
- Preparedness to work shifts
- Valid driver’s license with possession of own transport
- Physically fit with ability to carry components weighing at least 30kg by hand
- Basic computer proficiency is essential
