About the Role
The Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s network infrastructure and systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role involves proactive incident detection, troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution to maintain high service availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network systems, servers, and applications using monitoring tools
- Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve network and system incidents in real time
- Respond to alerts, outages, and performance issues promptly
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or relevant teams
- Maintain system uptime and meet SLA requirements
- Execute routine maintenance tasks (patching, updates, backups)
- Document incidents, resolutions, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams (network, security, systems)
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity processes
- Generate and analyze performance and incident reports
Requirements
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a NOC, IT support, or network operations role
- Qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools
- Basic knowledge of operating systems (Linux/Unix and Windows Server)
- Understanding of firewalls, routers, and switches
- Experience with ticketing systems
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
