Pretoria: Divisional Operations Manager (FMCG Wholesale & Distribution)

Job Description

Minimum Requirements Diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related qualification Minimum 5 years experience in FMCG operations management At least 3 years in a middle management role Proven experience managing large teams in FMCG retail and/or wholesale environments Strong background in sales and merchandising operations Wholesale experience is essential (non-negotiable) Strong analytical and operational planning capabilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Key Responsibilities 1. Operational Planning & Execution Develop and implement operational plans aligned with business objectives Monitor KPIs, budgets, and cost controls Analyse operational performance and implement improvements Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards 2. Sales & Merchandising Excellence Drive sales performance across retail and wholesale channels Ensure stock availability and reduce out-of-stock situations Oversee merchandising standards and in-store execution Manage promotional compliance and execution effectiveness Conduct store visits and ensure execution quality 3. Customer & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and customers Address and resolve operational and service-related issues Gather and analyse customer feedback and market insights Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention 4. Team Leadership & Development Lead, manage, and develop large operational teams Conduct performance reviews and development planning Drive employee engagement, training, and capability building Foster a culture of accountability and high performance Key Performance Areas Operational efficiency and cost management Sales growth and target achievement Stock availability and merchandising compliance Customer and client satisfaction Team performance and retention Compliance with operational standards and reporting accuracy Competencies & Skills Strong leadership and people management Excellent planning and organisational skills Analytical and data-driven decision-making ability Strong communication and interpersonal skills Problem-solving and conflict resolution capability Customer-focused and results-oriented mindset Ability to work in a fast-paced FMCG environment High attention to detail and operational discipline
