About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Security Systems Manager to lead our design, research and build of security systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in system architecture and design, as well as excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. As a manager, you will be responsible for providing strategic oversight for the team’s security research and system design initiatives, ensuring that all security technologies are implemented fit-for-purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, research and build of security systems (ACS, CCTV, alarms, sensors, perimeter systems).
- Provide strategic oversight for the team’s security research and system design initiatives.
- High-level technical guidance and support to Security Researchers, Functional Specialists and System Engineers.
- Develop and enforce system standards, frameworks and governance.
- Evaluate new security technologies and ensure fit-for-purpose implementation.
- Oversee incident response strategies and ensure system resilience.
- Manage third-party vendors, security technologies and major system deployments.
- Collaborate with Architects, ICT teams and various business units to ensure alignment.
Requirements
- 8 to 10 years’ experience in a security systems research, design and applications support environment, of which 3 to 5 years in a managerial or leadership capacity;
- Sound knowledge and experience in areas such as system architecture and design, security frameworks and standards, system integration and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to guide technical teams.
Qualifications
- Honours Degree (NQF 8) in Information Technology, Security Systems Management, Electronics Security Systems OR a closely related qualification.
